GAME Digital PLC (GMD): Half year results to 27 January 2018

Revenues grew 3.9% to £517.4m; retail revenues were flat at £374m but events, esports & digital revenues grew 31.5% to £7.1m. Group profit before tax fell 25.5% to £12.3m while profit on core retail fell 56.1% to £9.7m but the events, esports & digital division moved to a profit of £2.6m from a loss of £5.6m in the prior period. The console market is expected to be more challenging in H2 than in the recent past.

GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK): Agrees to take full ownership of Consumer Healthcare Business from Novart

GSK has agreed to buy Novartis’ 36.5% stake in their Consumer Healthcare joint venture for $13bn. The transaction is expected to be earnings accretive in 2018 and thereafter, with operating margins to approach the middle of a 20-30% range by 2022. Completion of the buyout is currently expected to occur during the summer of 2018, subject to shareholder approval.

e-Therapeutics plc (ETX): 2017 full year results

ETX spent 2017 refocusing resources on its network-driven drug discovery platform and is in late-stage discussions with a number of potential partners as part of its strategic emphasis on marketing and business development. ETX has no revenues but reduced operating losses to £6.8m for the year ended 31 January 2018 compared to £16.3m for the year ended 31 January 2017.

SCISYS PLC (SSY):dav 2017 unaudited results

Revenues grew 25% to £57.2m with professional fees 28% higher at £48.0m and growth spread evenly between the UK and Europe. Adjusted operating profit grew 44% to £4.6m and the full year dividend per share was increased by 10% to 2.16p. The outlook for 2018 continues to be very encouraging with a record order book of £91.3m.

Shore Capital Group (SGR): 2017 preliminary results

Group revenues grew 6.3% to £41.9m, with revenues in the larger Capital Markets division decreasing 3.9% to £27.2m but revenues from Asset Management growing 24% to £12.9m. Asset Management margins improved to 23.3% while Capital Markets margins decreased to 19.1%. Adjusted profit before tax grew 27.5% to £6.5m and the dividend was doubled to 10p per share.

YouGov plc (YOU): Half year results to January 2018

Revenues grew 12% at constant currency and profit grew at 65% as YouGov continues to shift to higher margin products and still grow. Trading has continued positively in the second half so far and YouGov remain confident of full year guidance.
